ACE has today announced the shortlist for its prestigious Engineering Excellence Awards.  The awards recognise small, medium and large firms for excellence in building structures, infrastructure, and building services. There is also an award for the best, research, studies, and consulting project.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) has called for the Government to set out clearly how it will tackle the deficit in the forthcoming Budget.  The call comes in the ACE’s Budget representation on the expectation that the Chancellor will have an annual Budget in March, prior to a general election.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) has asked its members to support RedR’s Haiti appeal by donating time or money. Haiti has been hit by its most powerful earthquake in two centuries.  It struck close to the densely populated capital, Port-au-Prince, bringing down thousands of buildings.  Thousands of people are dead or missing.  Many more are without shelter.  The country is facing a long hard struggle to clear the wreckage and rebuild homes and services.  That struggle will be all the harder in what is the poorest nation anywhere in the Americas.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) has launched its manifesto: ‘Engineering the UK’s prosperity’ to coincide with the unofficial launch of the general election campaign.  The manifesto sets out how the consultancy and engineering industry can support the UK’s return to growth.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) is calling for a new method of accounting to encourage investment in infrastructure.  In a new positioning paper, ‘Avoiding an infrastructure crunch’, ACE is suggesting that the government explores ways of establishing a regulatory asset base (RAB).

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) is calling for the creation of infrastructure gilts.  This financial instrument would address the infrastructure crunch that UK plc is facing.  To avoid this and help the UK compete in the global economy, ACE is recommending that the Government grasps the opportunity to tackle a £500 billion infrastructure deficit over the next decade through the funding of infrastructure investment.
