The FIDIC organisation

FIDIC, the Féderation Internationale de Ingénieurs-Conseils, was founded in 1913. Today, it represents most of the private practice consulting engineers in the world. The federation is charged with promoting and implementing the consultancy and engineering sector’s strategic goals on behalf of 78 member associations representing over 40,000 firms with annual revenues of $US230 billion. FIDIC member firms endorse FIDIC’s statutes and comply with FIDIC’s Code of Ethics. FIDIC organises seminars, conferences and other events in the furtherance of its goals. FIDIC publications include information for consulting engineers, project owners and international development agencies, widely used conditions of contract, client-consultant agreements and international best-practice publications and guides.

ACE represents the consultancy and engineering industry in the UK. Collectively ACE member firms are part of a sector which generates £11 billion turnover and contributes significantly to the UK economy. Formed in 1913, ACE is one of the longest established FIDIC member associations and has in membership more than 800 consultancy and engineering firms, large and small, operating across many different disciplines.
