A 200-strong group of renewable energy backers has written to the prime minister David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg urging them to get fully behind the sector.
The open letter, which is backed by signees including Gaynor Hartnell, the chief executive of the Renewable Energy Association, expresses frustration at the delays in the Renewables Obligation (RO) Banding decision and at Treasury interference in green policy.
"Constant reviews and policy uncertainty deter investment and risk adding to costs," the letter says.
It goes on to urge the government to show a united front when it comes to supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
"We urgently need you to deliver a united 'Team GB' effort to secure the UK’s place as a world leader in green skilled jobs and technology," the group said.
It goes on to ask the leaders to ensure the Treasury supports the long-term vision of the sector, clarify the levels of support on offer and back the Feed-in Tariff.
