A £500 million incinerator project in King's Lynn is awaiting approval from Norfolk County Council.
Companies Cory Environmental and Wheelabrator Technologies make up the Cory Wheelabrator consortium that originally submitted the plans for the project in June last year.
In preparation for the scheme going ahead, it has just selected Shipdham-based BAM Nuttall to carry out the civil engineering element of the project and is now looking for more local firms to assist.
Paul Green of Cory Wheelabrator said that businesses keen to get on board should register their interest as soon as possible.
David Brothers, business development manager at BAM Nuttall, added: "We are liaising with existing suppliers of goods and building service, but we're also keen to speak with firms from across Norfolk and the eastern region about a range of subcontracting opportunities."
If the project gets the go-ahead, over 1,000 jobs are expected to be created during the 32-month construction phase.
