Harrow Council has awarded a £50 million highways maintenance contract to May Gurney.
The contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of the council's highways, carriageways, footways, streetlights, gullies, and watercourses, as well as infrastructure belonging to London Underground and Overground and watercourses belonging to the Environment Agency.
The contract begins in April for an initial period of five years, with an option to extend for a further two years.
Philip Fellowes-Prynne, May Gurney chief executive, said: "We continue to focus on providing innovative and cost effective solutions to help local authorities manage their essential infrastructure assets and look forward to building a strong and valuable relationship with Harrow Council."
May Gurney say it has a potential of £4 billion worth of further contracts in the pipeline, on top of £1.5 billion in forward orders.
The London Borough of Harrow covers an area of just under 20 square kilometres and has a population of around 230,000.
